I have never missed a year watching this movie. My favorite of all time. When I was in the hospital getting ready to deliver my son I had the Wizard of Oz on the tv for comfort! Will always be my most memorable year! Long live Wizard of Oz. Also played the wicked witch of the west in our middle school play-way back when!

It was usually during Thanksgiving as a child...crammed around the TV, with all my cousins, watching this classic movie. Today (...much older) my kids eyes always want to watch it when I suggest it. They will pass it on to their kids and so on... It doesn't get any better than that!

Connie

I've been watching the Wizard of Oz every year since 1962... my favorite scene is the cowardly lion running & jumping out of the window when frightened by the ominous 'head' of the Wizard... My Mama used to make us hot chocolate & popcorn ~ turned all the lights out and it was like we were in the Movie Theater ~ so wonderful to still enjoy this classic movie with my Grandbabies now....

My favorite was when Dorothy slaps the lion on the nose. I still crack up at that scene. I remember it was a major deal in my house watching Wizard of Oz 1x per year. Its still my favorite movie.

Not sure why when I first saw this movie (MANY) years ago, the part where Dorothy & the Scarecrow came upon the TinMan. Whilst he's singing/leaning from side-side, dorothy & Scarecrow get on either side of him & he leans towards Dorothy & she pushes him back. The other part is when the Winged Monkeys 'catch' Dorothy & they're flying in the air & you can see her 'mechanical' legs flapping up/down.

J. Brian Turrill

This is my favorite movie. I grew up during the 70's and at that time CBS would show the film once a year as a "special event". I was one of 5 children and we only had one TV and my siblings were not interested in the film. My Mom & Dad would make it my night and I would sit with my Dad in his recliner and watch the film. My memories of the film and that time with my Dad are priceless!

My nephew was only two years old when he started wearing a pair of Ruby Slippers around the house. His Grandfather was mortified. The "phase" only lasted a few months after he watched the movie. My nephew, is now 24 is in the Navy, working in tandem with the Seals. It would not matter to me one bit if he still wore the Ruby Slippers, after all, they are just symbolic of virtues. I will not share this information with his girlfriend.

Jacquelyn Brittain

I watched this movie so many times when I was little I had it almost memorized by the time I was four. Even now, over 20 years later and 600 miles apart, my daddy and I make a "date" to watch the movie together when it comes on TV each fall. My favorite memory is when the little munchkins in the nest wake up. My dad called them "Jackalo-birds" (after my name) and that's still my nickname to this day.

Sadie Gregg

This timeless classic is my all time favorite film spanning from childhood to adulthood. I love the whole film but two favorite parts that I've loved since I saw it for the first time are when scarecrow tells Dorothy he'll show her how to get apples & when they are off to rescue Dorothy & they are climbing up - Lion says he hopes his courage holds out - "I hope you tail holds out" Love it!!

Michele Johnson

Growing up The Wizard of Oz only came on once a year and I don't think I ever missed it. No matter where I was, it had to be somewhere that I could watch. I have memories of watching it in my Paw Paw's big brown chair to cuddled up with my mom at home. Somewhere Over the Rainbow was being played when I finally made it to my dad's room at the Hospice house, of which I was just a little to late to see him pass (which is the way he wanted it). The movie and the song will always have a special place in my life.

This is one of my Favorite Movies! I remember about two years ago when I was sitting in a hospital bed dealing with Phemonia once again when I was flipping through the channels and the Wizard of Oz was just starting. All of a sudden I began to really relax and sort of forget how I was feeling to enjoy this wonderful Movie.

Linda Torres

Favorite memory, impossible to decide. We are on the 3rd generation of OZ lovers. My 3 year old grandaughter is on her 3rd dvd (she wore out the others) and knows nearly all the words for each song. They were actually Dorothy, the Wicked Witch and the Great and Powerful OZ last year for Halloween.
