Did you know that The Alexander Doll Company (which has been around since 1923) has created collectible dolls of nearly EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER in the original movie The Wizard of Oz? Yep, that’s a lot of dolls over the years, including Winkie Guards, Flying Monkeys, Munchkins, and of course Dorothy, The Wizard, Tin Man, Scarecrow, Glinda the Good Witch, The Wicked Witch of the West, and so many more! These dolls are one of Madame Alexander’s most popular collections, and get snapped up very quickly every year by fans that want a complete collection and those that just want their favorite characters.
Madame Alexander continues to mine the movie for more characters inspired by The Wizard of Oz movie each and every year. How fun would it be to have a job watching it over and over to find the characters that have not been turned into dolls yet? This year, they’ve introduced the Emerald City Beautician, Munchkin General, Orange Lollipop Munchkin, and new versions of Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion.
