“It really was no miracle, what happened was just this…”
It may not be a miracle, but visitors to the LEGOLAND Discovery Center Kansas City will think the scenes from The Wizard of Oz, made completely out of LEGO bricks, are miraculous indeed.
LEGO artists have collaborated to bring visitors not one, but two versions of the famous farmhouse belonging to Dorothy and her family. Weighing approximately five pounds a piece, each took 30 hours to construct and more than 1,200 LEGO bricks were used.
Come April 29th when the exhibit opens, visitors will marvel at the black and white version of the house, a scene of the Gale farm before the giant twister took Dorothy and Toto on the ride of their lives. The second version, this one in color, will show the house upon touchdown in Munchkinland, where it landed on top of the…well, you know the story.
For the past few weeks, it’s been our pleasure to bring you exclusive advance looks at these detailed scenes from one of Hollywood’s most beloved films, including this one of Dorothy’s farmhouse. But we hope you’ll get the chance to see the exhibit in person, because even the best photos and descriptions don’t come close to seeing these amazing scenes up close and personal.
There really is no place like home, there’s no film like The Wizard of Oz, and we’re sure all will agree…there’s no place quite like the LEGOLAND Discovery Center Kansas City.

But Deborah, there's a part of the brick road that isn't yellow. It's regular old brick that leads to the center of the town in a spiral and out goes the Yellow Brick Road.
